I can’t really understand why Obama finds the Iranian Missile tests as an indication that the efforts to negotiate with Iran are such a great idea.
It is rather pathetic actually.
Just think about it. There are negotiations with Iran over the last few years. Either drop your nuclear plan or get international restrictions. The carrot side being if you stop your nuclear plans and agree to supervision and cooperation you’ll get incentive and it would be worth your time.
The result - the same declarations that we came to know so well in the Arab world that they are indestructible and a pathetic show of power. Pathetic since military intelligence says that they only fired one missile and made a lot of manipulation to make it seems like they did much more.
If this doesn’t sound like Iraq at 1991 I don’t know what does.
McCain is taking their threat in proportion suggesting to invest in prevention but Obama seems to believe that talking to crazy aggressive leaders is really a good idea.
I really loved the discussion at Obama watch for the issue.
Maybe if the patriot missiles were in place before the first Gulf war all the “drama” that Saddam did with no real military power would have ended much sooner and with less casualties to our troops.
