Why hold ANY convention - of a gun group or otherwise - in a city with such notoriously-high hotel rates, restaurant-meal costs, etc.? Down here in North Carolina - where the National Rifle Association held its convention several years ago - you can get a good steak dinner for about $5, an eggs-and-potatoes-and-coffee breakfast under $3, and hotel rooms are inexpensive.
