I live near a quaint village called Cook Village. Developers are keen on putting up highrises. The people of the area want it left the way it is.

It hit me that this is a fight between two groups of people:

1. those that live in the area.

2. those that don't, who own shares in the development company. They don't care at all about the region.

It is reminiscent of the disputes between the Irish peasants and their English absentee landlords.

Bush crime family lost/embezzled $3 trillion from Pentagon. Complicit Bush-friendly media keeps mum.

The Irish pounded themselves with that crazy Church that kept 'em all in cursed ignorance of themselves. I saw this show on TV about an orphan woman from here who'd gone back to find her roots or somethin' an found her mother: an old woman who'd been made a nunnery slave for having the wrong man's child.

There is a huge body of work on the subjegation of the Irish by the English. The English pretty much pounded who they wanted. As for the church, that was a different problem and not from the English. N Ireland is the end game of the English joy rid thru Ireland.

The RC enabled the ongoing enslavement of the populace by unscrupulous Anglicized 'owners'. Same formula in Quebec. And the real problem with Ulster is that both the 'Irish' and the 'English' there are Scotch.

Huh? The English had a problem with the RC. Henry the 8th and so on. The Crown was no friend of the RC.

As far as both RC and Crown were concerned, there were worse possibilities than sleeping with the De'il.
