Bush warns Americans to expect more Iraq bloodshed

PRESIDENT Bush will tonight tell Americans to stand firm over Iraq and be prepared for more bloodshed.

He will deliver his national address surrounded by troops at Fort Bragg, North Carolina - a backdrop designed to whip up patriotic feelings.

The speech is part of a series of appearances and interviews by the Bush team after a spate of suicide bombings and attacks by insurgents that has undermined public faith in the President’s policy.

Mr Bush’s approval ratings have fallen to the lowest levels of his presidency, in part because of growing fears about Iraq.

He declared last week that the insurgency 'will be defeated.'

Mr Bush’s address marks the anniversary of the hand-over.

Part of his message will be to tell Americans to expect 'tough fighting in the days and weeks ahead,' said a White House spokesman.

I wonder if this is a warning to the American people. Maybe Bush wants us to know he'll use the military to retain power no matter what crimes he commits.

Then the question will be whether there are true patriots in the Officer Corps who will follow their oaths and not the office. Your question is chilling, but not unbelievable.

I'm not sure the officers are any better than the ranks. Their all volunteers, too. They're in the army because they want to be not necessarily because they believe they have a duty to be. They like being in the army and I'd be willing to bet a lot of them want to stay in it and that they'd be able to convince themselves they always have to follow the orders of the Commander-in-Chief.

One of the things the founding generation feared most was a professional army. Now we have one.

'...so long as Im the dictator...' That says it all about Bush. Tommy Franks said in the now famous Cigar magzine inerview, that if the US suffered another, more devastating attack, the US constitution would be suspended and replaced with a military govt.

Franks said the people would welcome this action because of the security it would provide.

So, that option is on the table. Bush would not have to directly say the govt has been replaced for him to retain power, but just use the majic word, Security. Then he would not have to worry about generals loyaly to him in a coup aginst the people. Only that they would be providing the National Security, whe the chips were down. The generals would jump at the chance, they are military men.

All they would have to do is come up with the perfect name for the Operation.

The Penagon is a place where contingencies are planned, and actions to predertimed scenarios are already drawn up. Thats what they do in those chambers.

The USAPA set the stage for any of this kind of shit. Civil disobidience will not be tolerated in a time of national emergency. Th next attack on our soil will not net them the unblinking confidence they received ffrom 9-11. They blew that, with their lies and gross manipulations.

People are on to them. They have used a bunch of their capitol, and they will not just go away.

This adminsitration promoted and awarded the people who presided over 9-11. They gave us 9-11, and two useless wars, They have taken the lives of tens of thousands, with no remorse, and have looted our treasury. Whatever the very worse fate the USA could suffer, would not be beyond the range of these
