207,000 New Payroll Jobs In July

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today that the economy added 207,000 new payroll jobs in the month of July. Also, payroll job gains in May and June were revised up by about 20,000 each. This now marks 26 consecutive months of job gains, which has added nearly 4 million new jobs to payrolls.

According to the BLS report, payroll employment 'has increased by 2.2 million over the year and over 1.3 million new payroll jobs have been created so far this year.'

The unemployment rate remained at 5% and is the lowest since September 11, 2001. It also remains below the averages of each of the past 3 decades.

Thank you, President Bush, for giving us those tax cuts!!!!

UPDATE: Jobs growth unexpectedly strong

That's a little difficult considering it was below 5% much of Clinton's second term in office, rightard.

And if the unemployment rate isn't changing, doesn't that mean (1) as many jobs are lost as being created and (2) not enough jobs are being created for newly seeking workers?

I know logic isn't in your arsenal, so have someone explain it to you,

But this does not count the jobs that are LOST this month, nor does it account for the 'discouraged' workers who have tied for months and months to find work.

Lets see now if I get the democrat logic, if the moon is full and the wind is out of the south at 5 MPH, and the fish are swimming in a lake, that means unemployment isn't lower?
